I have recently moved house. My dogs are well looked after and don’t bark while I’m at home only when I’m out. What can the environmental health do? Can they take my dogs away? Can they prosecute me?

They can’t do a darn thing. Dogs naturally bark… and they are just being protective or just want to play. If they do anything, you can take them to court.
The police told me once, that I had to muzzle our dog. We ended up giving him to a friend out in the country, where he could bark and run all he wanted. Good luck.
Your neighbors can call the police and report excessive noise. Some cities will issue a ticket and make you keep them inside or get rid of them.
Just depends on where you live. Check into your local laws
Sounds like you have some petty neighbors. If you control the dogs when you are home, there is nothing they can do. If anything, look into doggie daycare if it gets too hectic for you.
If they hear the dogs barking for more than 15 minutes in NY you can get a fine for noise pollution, same as if you had had your stereo blasting for all the neighborhood to hear, keep your dogs inside while at work so they won’t be out barking all day,if you can’t keep them indoors use a bark collar there are many types and they work fairly well.
yeah they can you need to try to get them not to bark
are you keeping them outside when you are away if so kekep them in the house….
they can call the police & the police will only give so many warnings depending where you live….
I have a dog too…
best of luck to you
sportsmoms right, they took my neighbors dog when it wouln’t shut up. i hope you understand, i don’t have dogs, why should i have to listen to your dog bark. trust me, it’s more than annoying, it violates my right to enjoy my yard and neighborhood. please, be responcible, get them a shock trainer, or get a dog u can hande.
absolutly nothing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!dogs will naturally bark but you may be able to traiin your dog not to bark so much by looking at why he barks.
First off, it depends on where you live. Look up your local laws
Secondly, resolutions… Dogs bark because of boredom. Try a kong, or something else to keep their minds busy. Try also excercising your dog before you leave. A tired dog is a good dog. Do you have a tredmill? Put him on there for 15-20 min before you leave.
As a last resort try a electric collar. In my experiance Citronella is the best. It sprays the dog with a Citronella spray when he barks. But try the ther methods first.
Having to listen to someone else’s dog bark for hours on end is really annoying. I’d recommend that you be a good neighbor and keep them inside when you’re not home. If they are destructive or not housebroken, use a large dog cage.
Depending on where you live, you can receive a fine for violating noise ordinances. If your dogs do not have food, water and shelter, you could have them seized by animal cruelty officers. It’s kinder to have them surgically debarked by a vet than to use shock collars or punishment. The bigger problem is that your dogs may be injured or poisoned by your frustrated neighbors.
